滨江而建的上海世博中心，北接滨江绿洲，东靠世博轴，南临世博大道及世博核心园区，西望世博公园及卢浦大桥，是上海世博会永久性保留场馆之一。

上海世博中心用地面积6.65公顷，绿化面积13，300平方米，总建筑面积约140,000平方米，地上建筑面积99,990平方米，地下建筑面积42,000平方米，总建筑高度为40米，共有8个层面，分别为地下1层，地上7层。

上海世博中心立足于庄重、典雅、经典的建筑风格，形态端庄且不张扬，体现了社会文明进步的和谐精神，表达了“城市，让生活更美好”的良好愿望。

上海世博中心，作为上海展览中心（集团）有限公司的子公司，在世博会期间承担了国家馆日庆典、荣誉日活动、国际论坛、宴请、演出、贵宾接待、新闻发布和指挥运营等重要任务。世博会后，其又转型成为大型高规格国际会议的重要场所，一方面承担政务服务功能，成为上海市“两会”及其他重要政务性会议的举办场所；另一方面还要承载社会功能，对市场和社会开放，以其会议、展览、活动、宴会、演出等专业功能形成核心竞争力，充分展示上海国际大都会形象，提升上海城市的综合竞争力，是上海新的城市名片。

上海世博中心场地功能布局灵活，可根据实际需要进行适当分隔。主要类型有大会堂、上海厅、多功能厅、中会议厅、小会议厅、VIP会议厅、专用会议厅、新闻发布厅、贵宾厅、宴会厅、江景餐厅以及可容纳550辆车的地下停车库和地面停车区域。

上海世博中心作为世博园区最重要的滨江建筑，各种活动空间赋予世博中心以持久的活力，成为一个开放的城市空间，一个包容的城市客厅。

 

• Built by riverside, Shanghai Expo Centre is one of the permanent buildings in the 2010 Shanghai Expo site. The Centre borders the Waterfront Oasis on the north and adjoins the Expo Boulevard on the east, while overlooking Shibo Avenue and the Expo Core Zone on th south, and gazing the Expo Park and Lupu Bridge on the west. 
• With its site area of 6.65 hectares in which the landscaped area covers 13,300 sqm, the total built up area of Shanghai Expo Centre is 140,000 sqm, consisting of 99,990 sqm above grade and 42,000 sqm below grade. 40 metres in height, the building has 8 levels, 7 levels above grade and 1 level basement.

• Shanghai Expo Centre is a subsidiary company of Shanghai Exhibition Center (Group) Company Limited (SEG). In the duration of 2010 Shanghai Expo, the Expo Centre takes the missions, such as Country Pavilion Day celebrations, the Honour Day activities, international Forum, banquets, entertainment and performance, VIP receptions, press and news release, administration center, In the post-Expo time it has been converted to an essential venue for large-scale high-end international conference. It performs the governmental affairs functions in terms of a venue for the Party Congress and the People’s Congress as well as for other government meetings, whereas it will as well carry out social functions by opening up to the market and local community. With its competitive edge in professional functions of convention, exhibition, event, banquet, enterainment and performance, Shanghai Expo Centre is a showcase of the international metropolis of Shanghai, and boosts the comprehensive competence of the city. 
• Flexible in floor planning, the spaces of Shanghai Expo Centre can be partitioned as per actual needs. Major functions include: Grand Hall, Shanghai Hall, function rooms, medium conference rooms, small conference rooms，VIP Conference Hall, designated conference rooms, press conference hall, VIP Rooms, River-view Restaurant, ball rooms, a basement garage accommodating 550 parking spaces for visitor cars, and a ground parking lot.
